On 10 December 2025, Ducit Blue Solutions hosted Nigeria’s AMR stakeholders for the CwPAMS Close-Out & Sustainability Event in Abuja.
The Commonwealth Partnerships for Antimicrobial Stewardship (CwPAMS) strengthens stewardship through partnerships, capacity building, and system-level interventions. In Nigeria, it has supported rational antimicrobial use, infection prevention and control, workforce capacity building, and evidence generation. CwPAMS is funded by the UK Department of Health and Social Care’s Fleming Fund, managed by Global Health Partnerships (formerly THET), Commonwealth Pharmacists Association, with DUCIT BLUE SOLUTIONS as local grant manager.
The event brought together key One Health stakeholders from Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare Nigeria, National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Africa CDC, DRASA (Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh) Health Trust, Federal Ministry of Livestock Development, Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN), Healthcare Federation of Nigeria, alongside Health Partnership leads, Pharmacists, clinicians, and partners.
Key moments included welcome remarks and goodwill messages from representatives of Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, Africa CDC, Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, NAFDAC Nigeria, Federal Ministry of Livestock Development, DRASA and the National Oversight Mechanism, led by Pharm. Health partnerships from five facilities across 17 sites presented highlights, followed by panel discussions. Group B (Data Harmonisation & Digital Innovation) won with ASIN (Antimicrobial Stewardship Innovation Network), consolidating AMS data across hospitals, community settings, and national programmes for real-time, evidence-based decisions.
Other key themes included: Policy & Governance Innovation, Sustainable Financing, Behavioural & Social Change, and Access, Supply Chain & Quality Assurance.
The event concluded with panel reflections on sustainability and next steps, led by Pharm. Estelle Onyekachi Mbadiwe MPharm, MSc and a vote of thanks by Dr. Ubong Udoh, reinforcing commitment to sustaining AMS gains.
